Sink and Faucet Repairs in the Midlands

Leaky faucets and troubles with water pressure should be a thing of the past. Kay Plumbing has been expertly serving the Cayce-Columbia area for over a decade.

Kitchen Plumbing Services for Every Issue You Might Have

The kitchen is called the heart of the home for a reason. You prepare food for your family and guests there, and most home cleaning leads back to the kitchen sink. You don’t realize what you have until something goes wrong, and now you’re struggling to figure out what you can prepare or how you can use a bathroom sink as a substitute for a kitchen sink. Our expert plumbers can assess and repair the issue with your sink the same day you call us. We clean up any mess caused by our repairs before we leave, so you don’t have to do anything else before you get back into your kitchen.

Sink repair & new sink installation

Whether you have an issue in your sink you don’t know how to fix yourself or you’re ready to renovate your kitchen’s plumbing fixtures, it’s time to call out an experienced professional. We know what a difference the right sink can make to your kitchen’s function and aesthetic.

Leaky dishwashers and faucets

Does your kitchen faucet dribble after you turn off the water or drip constantly? Does water pool under your dishwasher when it runs? These issues are often easy fixes for a professional plumber, usually just requiring a quick adjustment.

Water line installations for fridges & ice makers

Does your new refrigerator have a water or ice dispenser in the door, but your home doesn’t have a water line for your fridge? Is your current water line or water dispenser leaking or running poorly? Our team can give you back the convenience of your water dispenser or ice maker.

Drain cleaning and unclogging

You’ve gone through every trick you can find, and your drain is still clogged. There are a lot of reasons you can’t get to the clog yourself, but professional plumbers have tools that aren’t widely available to the general public. At Kay Plumbing, we have tools that can reach deep into pipes and clear blockages or identify if something other than regular build up is causing the issue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plumbing problems that crop up out of nowhere might only affect a regular activity – or it could have the potential to ruin the holiday you’re hosting with your extended family. We’ll make lasting repairs so you don’t have recurring plumbing issues in your home.

Can I use a chemical drain cleaner for my sink clog?

We advise against using any chemical cleaners for any pipes in your home. They’re ineffective, erosive to pipes, and potentially harmful to yourself, your household, and the environment. It’s best to call a plumber if you can’t solve the clog yourself.

How do I keep my kitchen sink from clogging?

In general, clogs are caused when something goes down a drain that shouldn’t. For your kitchen sink, try putting a catcher in the drain to help catch those crumbs and soap residues you can’t. Also, avoid letting food or greases and oils down your drain as much as you can. Let greases cool in the pan and scrape them into the garbage – otherwise they’ll cool in your kitchen pipe and build up into a clog.

Why does water backup into my sink when the dishwasher runs?

Your dishwasher and sink share the same plumbing, which can cause dishwasher water to back up into the sink while it runs. This could happen on occasion, but if it’s a regular issue, something is probably wrong with your dishwasher.

How can I keep my garbage disposal in tip-top shape?

Garbage disposals are only equipped to handle certain types of items. Don’t put stringy vegetables, like celery or eggplant, or greases and oils into your disposal. These can gunk up the blades of your disposal. Also, avoid putting things like eggshells or coffee grounds into your disposal. Keeping things out of the disposal that shouldn’t be there will keep the motor from working harder than it should and prolong its lifespan.

Is drain cleaning important? How do I do it?

It’s recommended you clean your drains about once a month. Pour a hot water and salt mixture (or hot water and soap if your drain is very greasy) down your drains and let the force of gravity and the abrasive mix do the hard work. Be careful not to pour boiling hot water into any porcelain fixtures, though. It could cause them to crack.
